The British American Business Council Pittsburgh Region (BABC) is welcoming back members of the United Kingdom Trade & Investment (UKTI) on Tuesday, March 16 to follow up on Innovation Strategies and Programs between the Pittsburgh Region and the UK.
In December 2009, the BABC in partnership with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, GlaxoSmithKline, Westinghouse Electric Company, and the University of Pittsburgh hosted an Innovation Forum featuring Lord Digby Jones, UK Business Ambassador, who discussed the UK’s strategy on programs being supported for science and innovation as outlined by UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
The December event was a great success and warrants follow up to in order to identify next steps for innovation strategies between Pittsburgh and the UK.
On Tuesday, March 16, 2010, we will welcome John Lindfield, HM Consul and Director of UKTI; Fiona MacLeod, Head of UKTI NY; and Cindy Bouthot, Innovations and R&D Programs UKTI to Pittsburgh for an Innovation Roundtable from 12:00PM - 2:00PM. Discussion will focus on identifying tangible programs and activities to link clusters in Pittsburgh with complimentary groups in the UK.
Please let us know if you will attend, or if a member of your team will represent your organization. If there are others in the region you feel should be included in this meeting, please pass on this invitation. There is no charge to attend, but you must RSVP to secure your space at the meeting. Lunch will be served.
