The chief executive officers of a half-dozen local companies have formed a consortium "to establish a stable energy environment for the United States that includes energy independence, stable energy pricing and a portfolio approach to meeting increasing energy needs."
The United States Center for Energy Leadership founding members are Andy Hannah of Plextronics in Harmarville, Aris Candris of Westinghouse in Cranberry, Paul Evanson of Allegheny Energy in Greensburg, Murry Gerber of Downtown-based EQT, J. Brett Harvey of Consol Energy in Cecil and Keith Schaefer of BPL Global in Sewickley.
The group hopes to help shape national energy policy and promote funding strategies for the development of new energy technologies.
