The British–American Business Council Pittsburgh Region, Inc. (BABC) is an international business association that promotes trade and investment between the United States and the United Kingdom. Through an active program of events, publications, marketing and trade services, the BABC provides business contacts, promotional opportunities and information services to member corporations. The BABC can provide information on the Exchange Visitor Program for business trainees. Administered by our sister chamber in New York, this Program enables BABC members to bring selected trainees to the United States on a J–1 visa for periods of up to 18 months.
The BABC Pittsburgh Region is committed to forming domestic and transatlantic partnerships with other business⁄trade providers in order to create an environment where investment and trade can flourish. It has earned the reputation of being an important vehicle for bringing together the British and American business communities to exchange information and to develop new business. Yearly, the BABC hosts trade⁄business missions from the United Kingdom and has co–organized and participated in a Pittsburgh regional business mission, comprised of civic and business leaders, to the United Kingdom.
Established in 1995, the BABC Pittsburgh Region is one of 23 business associations/chambers of commerce based throughout the United Kingdom and North America that comprise the internationally renowned “The British-American Business Council.” The BABC is the largest transatlantic business network, with individual chapters, 3,000 member companies, based in most major business regions throughout North America and the United Kingdom.
